Number Day at BPS
We’ve had a super Number Day at BPS! We have done lots of fun number activities in class and School Council have run some lunchtime maths games too- all to raise awareness of the valuable work of the NSPCC.

HUGE congratulations to all our runners who took part in the cross country competition this week. They all did exceptionally well and represented BPS superbly, demonstrating all our school values. Our dedicated runners train every week with Miss B and Mr Hatch: thanks to them for taking the time to lead the club
It was great to see so many parents at the Year 4, 5 and 6 times table workshop this afternoon! Thank you for coming in and participating so enthusiastically- we hope it was a useful session. Mrs Le Gassick will run the workshop again after half-term for any parents who weren’t able to make it this time.
This week, representatives from some of our key stage two classes planted some new trees in our orchard. Despite the cold and damp, they enjoyed getting stuck in. Lovely to have more fruit for generations to come!
We were joined by Geoff and his guide dog, Pringle, along with some of their friends, to learn more about how guide dogs help blind and visually-impaired people.
We would like to congratulate the BPS Year 3 and 4 futsal team who won the Bridport Pyramid Futsal Tournament on Wednesday. They played some wonderful football and all the players demonstrated brilliant sportpersonship against a team with less experience.
They will now progress on the futsal finals to play against Parratt and Axe and Sticklands.
Last week, Eggardon, Thorncombe and Colmers took to the stage to perform in a ukulele concert. They have only been learning since the start of the year, but delighted the audience with their playing and singing.
Our Nativity was wonderful! The children were so enthusiastic in their singing and dancing. Some amusing moments really made the show.
Our football team won their round in the KENWAY CUP this week! Amazing work from them. Now, they progress on to the finals to play for the cup against the Beaminster pyramid winners.
UPDATE... We won! The team brought back the cup for another year. Awesome work, BPS!
What a week for football it has been at BPS!
Our newly-formed girls' team travelled to Weymouth to play a tournament.... and won!
Our mixed team went all the way to Bournemouth to play in the COUNTY FINALS; they got to the semi-finals!
We could not be more proud of all our players- they showed grit, determination and good sportsmanlike behaviour. Thank you for representing BPS!
Well done to all our children who participated in the Quickstix Hockey Tournament! They were fantastic AND reached the semi-final (the only goal they conceded in their games was in the final). We are all so proud of them!
BPS always enjoys fundraising for Children In Need. We participated in a variety of activities throughout the day, from designing Pudsey t-shirts to playing games.
